a few years ago (its the beginning of 2018 now) I was working at a Biochemical lab and was in a pretty low place and in a really bad rut, I made decent money but I just felt very unfulfilled and had a bit of a quarter-life crisis? lol. at 24 I was wondering what I was gonna do with myself. While playing Halo with friends it came up how awesome it’d be to have an Iron Man helmet and I took it as a challenge and made one. It was ugly…misproportioned, bad paint job, and barely fit right, but at the time it was really impressive to them and to me, I then wanted to make a costume like Nova, one of my favorite comic book heroes. That ended up becoming my first costume, at that time people admired it and a couple asked if I could make them stuff and I accepted. started out doing some crafting on weekends and in my downtime during the week and kept getting referrals from people I worked with that it got to the point of me not having enough time to craft.
so I came up with a plan, I could change my availability and have 3 day weekends by not working my 9-5 on Mondays since I could make more in that day building then I would at the lab. and then time passed and I took Tuesdays as half days so I was working the bare minimum to keep my benefits and insurance. and as time passed, I decided to just leave my job and plunge head first and I’ve been doing it ever since! for now, I am a freelance artist working with local crafting and supply companies and conventions, in a few years I may start putting into motion Cosmic Ash Studios’ FINAL form….bahahaha
